How do I qualify for a California lawn rebate?
Most cities and water districts require applicants to be residents of their respective areas. Often, these artificial grass conversion projects require a preexisting lawn that has been well irrigated and is healthy to qualify for rebate programs.
California Lawn Rebate 2022
(Northern California)
Monterey Peninsula Water Management District
Monterey Peninsula Water Management District is offering $1.00 per square foot for a maximum of 2,500 square feet per qualifying property. Rebates are only available for regularly maintained lawns that are irrigated and green. It’s also important that residents do not begin artificial turf installations or tamper with the preexisting yard until they have been prequalified. Lastly, a minimum of 250 square feet of lawn must be removed.
City of Modesto
The city of Modesto is offering $2 per square foot for a maximum of $3,000 per residential water account and $6,000 per commercial water account for the conversion of a preexisting grass area to artificial turf. Remember that funding is limited; therefore, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Before converting your existing grass area to artificial turf, schedule a pre-inspection and await your rebate approval. The rebate covers only the products used during the conversion. Labor and taxes are not included in this rebate.
