The research, which was carried out by ComRes, discovered that 56% of people with a garden would save up to £200 every year if they did not have to maintain their garden, while 13% could recoup between £201 and £400 and 5% could save between £401 and £600.

Of those questioned, 2% admitted they spend between £601 and £800 looking after their lawn, with 1% splashing out at least £801 up to a staggering £1,000.

Men admitted they are more likely to splash the cash on the garden, spending an average of £171 annually, compared to £136 spent by women.

LazyLawn has already gained a number of well-known fans, including Amanda Holden and Alan Titchmarsh, and has installed for a number of national names, such as Selfridges, Center Parcs and JD Wetherspoon.
