A company that is transforming the mini golf experience has once again called upon LazyLawn® to help bring its freshly-opened venue in central London to life.
The leading artificial turf installer supplied its in-demand Meadow Twist putting turf to Puttshack’s new course at Bank Underground station, which first opened its doors in mid-November 2019.
Puttshack is a “world’s first” social experience that utilises ground-breaking patented technology to set itself far “a-par-t” from other mini golf courses.
Its cutting-edge systems include automatic point scoring and leader boards that allow for intuitive gameplay, thereby eliminating the need to keep a physical tally of player performance.
What’s more, the technology tracks how many times it has been struck, as well as the distance it has moved.
Bank is Puttshack’s third venue, following the overwhelming response from punters to its courses at Westfield London and at Lakeside in Grays, both of which also featured LazyLawn®’s Meadow Twist product.
“We wanted this new course to be more adult-focussed, and to have appeal as an after-work city venue,” explains David Marsden, Head of Puttshack Services.
“Bank is one of the busiest stations in London and therefore receives a tremendous amount of footfall, so we felt that it would be the perfect place to open our third course.”
Because Puttshack Bank is targeting a different demographic to the firm’s previous venues, it has introduced a number of new features, such as a private bar, a fresh menu, and a combination of revamped and totally original holes, including one that is inspired by arcade classic Pac-Man.
“As with our other courses, we want to place a large focus on the environment and interior design,” David continues, “and because we had had a positive experience with LazyLawn® in the past, we decided to use their Meadow Twist product again to develop new designs for the holes.”
